Big spender, Floyd “Money” Mayweather may block punches just fine, but has been hit once again with a lawsuit.
This time it has been reported that a premium event and VIP lifestyle management firm called “White Glove International” is bringing forth a cause of action worth $80,000 plus interest for failure to pay for courtside seat at game 7 of the NBA Finals between the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs. TZM reports that Mayweather is said to have purchased three $25,000 tickets and one $5,000 ticket on game day.
Mayweather has mansions in both Miami and Las Vegas, so it is likely that, should the debt remain unpaid, the case will be heard in the Florida jurisdiction. This could prove to be a nice change of scenery for Mayweather, who should be fairly comfortable in the Nevada court system.
If the company can hold out a little longer there shouldn’t be any reason for them to be thrown to the wayside, as the boxer is guaranteed a $41.5 million purse after his upcoming fight on September 14th against Canelo Alvarez.
The lawsuit is not enough to detain the fight, and fans can rest assured that it unlikely to serve as any sort of a distraction for the undefeated champ. Even with the under a week until payday, “Money” has showed no indication of financial hardship, just plenty of bad accounting
