Andre “Dida” Amade Announces Return To MMA

CURITIBA, Brazil, March 18, 2014 — After a four year absence from active competition, world famous trainer and fighter Andre “Dida” Amade, in conjunction with Champions Fighter Management in Canada, announces his return to the ring. Dida is perhaps best known for his tenure as a Mixed Martial Artist in HERO’s and DREAM, as well as being a world-renowned trainer at Evolucao Thai in Brazil. Dida recently served as a coach on The Ultimate Fighter Brazil, working as a part of Wanderlei Silva’s team.

Dida has enlisted the help of Champions Fighter Management to launch a comeback after four years away from active competition, looking to make his return to the ring this July. Dida will be aiming to return to both Mixed Martial Arts and Kickboxing competition, looking to prove that he is one of the most dangerous Lightweights in the world in both sports. He currently holds wins over names like Coal Uno and Hiroyuki Takaya in MMA, making his way through a tough HERO’s Lightweight Grand Prix in 2007 to become a Finalist. He also has experience fighting some of the best Kickboxers in the world like Buakaw Banchamek, Hinata Watanabe and Hiroki Shishido.

In the past few years Dida has perhaps been best known for his work as a trainer, working with names like Fabricio Werdum, Wanderlei Silva, Sergio Moraes and Maurcio “Shogun” Rua out of Brazil. His return couldn’t come at a better time, as both the Mixed Martial Arts and Kickboxing worlds have thriving Lightweight divisions where a diverse fighter like Dida would make for a perfect fit.
