UFC 167 just got a whole lot bigger as heavyweights Frank Mir and Alistair Overeem have been penciled in to face each other in Las Vegas on November 16th.
The UFC made the announcement yesterday despite discussion that both fighters could end up on the unemployment line due to recent losses. That doesn’t appear to be the case and instead the two could end up fighting for a job.
The heavyweight tilt joins a UFC Welterweight title defense as Georges St. Pierre faces Johny Hendricks. Rashad Evans will also be fighting Chael Sonnen on the card.
The updated event card to date looks as follows:
Georges St-Pierre vs. Johny Hendricks – for welterweight title
Rashad Evans vs. Chael Sonnen
Frank Mir vs. Alistair Overeem
Robbie Lawler vs. Rory MacDonald
Josh Koscheck vs. Tyron Woodley
