UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo is hoping to return to action in October after being forced out of UFC 149 due to a knee injury suffered in training for his bout with Erik Koch.

Andre Pederneiras, Aldo's manager spoke with MMAFighting.com and the good news is the champ will not require surgery on the injured leg and instead is undergoing physical therapy in Brazil to rehab the knee.

Aldo joined a long list of injured fighters that completely changed the UFC's Calgary debut card. He plans on seeing a doctor in the coming weeks to re-evaluate his leg.
