Nate Marquardt Says He Has Stopped TRT

Former UFC Middleweight title contender Nate Marquardt will get a second chance under the Zuffa banner when he fights Tyron Woodley at the next Strikeforce event and as a guest this week on the MMA Hour, Marquardt told Ariel Helwani that he has stopped testosterone replacement therapy, the same therapy that cost him his UFC job in the first place:

“I didn't know if I was going to be able to fulfill my dreams going that route,” he said. “I just feel it was so much of a hassle and stress with the commissions and all that, I guess, that the right thing for me to do right now is to choose not to do it. And you know, definitely I've pursued a lot of other stuff to try to help my health and a lot of it's helping. I feel great right now. I'm in really good shape, and that's not something I'm worried about right now.”

Although great that Marquardt was able to stop TRT and apparently no longer needs it, it is no secret and is well documented that once a person begins TRT, it is usually a lifetime treatment.
