Urijah Faber now has an opponent for UFC 148's interim Bantamweight Title fight as it was announced on last night's episode of The Ultimate Fighter: Live by UFC President Dana White that “The California Kid” will face Renan Barao.
Barao will replace the injured current Champion Dominick Cruz who tore his ACL in training and has no clear return date to competition. The bout would have been the third between Cruz and Faber with the two splitting the previous fights.
Barao holds at 28-1-1 record and has not lost since his professional debut in the summer of 2005. He has won all three of his UFC fights, the latest a February victory over Scott Jorgensen.
