White On Weidman Vs. Silva 2: There’s No Way We Don’t Do This Rematch

Dana White is officially on a mission to lock up a date for Chris Weidman and Anderson Silva to step back in the Octagon.

When Weidman shocked the world by knocking the long time reigning UFC Middleweight Champion, fans and media alike lit up social networks calling for a rematch. Silva initially didn’t seem interested in the rematch but seems to have warmed to the idea and White tells NBC Sports that he is going to talk to Silva this week to get the wheels in motion:

“I’m flying to LA next week to go talk to [Silva]…Yes I do [expect the rematch]. Anderson Silva is going to get knocked out again by reality in a few days, and he is going to want to do this fight again… Actually, I am looking to do the rematch THIS year… It could be [UFC 168]. There is going to be a rematch. There is no way we don’t do this rematch.”.

When and where the rematch happens has had a number of different possibilities. Cowboy Stadium in Dallas, TX has been mentioned and with a seating capacity of 150,000, it would mark the biggest UFC event ever.

Stay tuned because the Weidman vs. Silva 2 talk is heating up
