Floyd Mayweather:
“You got to know when to hang it up, “I’m close to 40 years old. I’ve been in this sport for 19 years. I have nothing left to prove.”
“It doesn’t matter if I hurt my left or my right hand”
“My career is over.”
“I’m leaving the sport with all my faculties, still sharp, still smart,”
“Records are made to be broken”
“Someday we’ll find another Floyd Mayweather and break the record. But I’ve done everything I want to do in boxing. I’m leaving the way I want to.”
Andre Berto:
“Experience played a big part,”
“He has a lot of speed, and he’s real crafty. He did a lot of little things to get me off my rhythm.”
“I have a lot of pride, and he has a lot of pride as well”
“So we were talking. I tried to put on a great performance and push him to the limit. But he is where he is for a reason. Floyd’s one of the best, for sure.”
Post Fight Press Conference
Floyd Mayweather:
“But I was once told, once you get a certain amount of money, it’ll be hard for you to get up (for a fight). I’m very comfortable, and I can still get up and bust my ass when it’s time to go that boxing gym.”
“I got a little bump and bruises, but it’s OK. I made upwards of 70 mill tonight”
“No fight was really hard. If a fight was difficult, it was because I made it difficult,” he said. “It didn’t matter who opponent I chose, I got the same result.”
“I don’t know another fighter who made it look so easy, I make it look so easy.”
“I did everything the way I wanted to do it,”

“You hear so many things throughout a 19-year career, All he did was hold. All he did was run. He’s cocky. He’s arrogant. Nobody likes him. He can’t write. He can’t read. And if you all believe that, you’re dumb to believe it.”
“Every champion, (Muhammad) Ali, Sugar Ray Robinson, Sugar Ray Leonard, they were all great champions, Larry Holmes, and the list goes on and on, they opened up the doors, and paved the way for me to be where I’m at today, I’m appreciative.”
“But now the young fighters say, ‘We want to be like Mayweather.’
It’s not cool to take punishment in the ring. I’m not perfect but I strived to be a perfectionist.”
